Pigon Forge, Tennessee

Today we went to the very large Tanger Outlet Mall and watched fudge being made.  The traffic in this town is horrendous!  We thank Google Maps for finding us curvy, narrow back rows to avoid the congestion.  On the way to the Smith Family Theatre it took us about 10 minutes to go 10 car lengths.  The saying “things are not as good the second time around” is certainly true.  Instead of religious theme entertainment the show is now a 50’s celebration.  There were two hymns at the very end.  Several years ago it was not a dinner theatre and it was the high point for us of Pigeon Forge.  This time it was the low point as our expectations were so high.  The only redemption was the salute to veterans near the end of the performance. The preshow entertainment at Dolly Parton’s Dixieland Stampede was better than the main show at the Smith Family Theatre.  Oh, well.  Tomorrow we leave for Nashville.
