Foxwoods Casino

Sunday, September 1st, 2013 We had great expectations of seeing beautiful scenery while traveling the New England countryside, however, we were disappointed. It did not compare to anything we’ve seen thus far and the traffic was horrendous. Saturday night we stayed at Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut. We knew it was the largest in the country. It was so large that the bus terminal exceeded the size of the Greyhound bus terminal in Reno. The Bingo area was as large as the entire casino floor of the Grand Sierra in Reno. Since it was Labor Day weekend we dry camped at Foxwood’s parking lot B as the designated RV area was filled to capacity. We enjoyed a breakfast buffet this morning and then began looking for an RV site with full hookups for tonight as we have been dry camping for the last four nights. We called four camp grounds and they were all full. We thought we were lucky on the fifth call but after arriving there we learned that full hookups there did not include sewer. We cancelled our stay and continued our search and finally came up with Countryside RV Park in Griswold, Connecticut. This campground is beautiful. The sites surround a large pond. The sites are irregular and large. It feels like we’re in the middle of the mountains. Bill said that if we could find something like this in Reno he would book a spot for the summer season.
