We now understand why we have so many Canadian geese in Sparks. There are hundreds of them in this park and an attendant in a golf cart chases them off the grass. At first we thought he was playing around but now we know it’s his job, geese chaser. They leave a horrible mess on the grass but they are certainly beautiful to look at.
We spent the first part of our day doing a little grocery shopping as we will be away from major cities or towns for the next three days. Our motor home has enough diesel to get us to Michigan and the car just tags along.
I guess we’re becoming zoo lovers because we seem never to miss one. We went to Chippewa Park Zoo which had an elevated boardwalk throughout the park. Unfortunately, most of the animals were sleeping except for the reindeer and they nervously paced in their rather large enclosure. I walked, pushing the wheelchair which we brought just in case my knee started acting up. I used the wheelchair as a walker. It was a small circular boardwalk and I did okay. It was a pleasant thing to do late in the day. We didn’t get there until about 5:00 P.M.
