Prince Edward Island

Tuesday, August 27th, 2013 We met the couple from everywhere today, a very nice gentleman and his wife who have traveled in their RV full time for the last 14 years. He confirmed that the Cabot Trail was not what it was said to be and he has also seen prettier scenery elsewhere. We had a late start today. We headed towards the Prince Edward Island Ferry after buying fuel for the final time in Canada. Fuel is very expensive here, about $1.00/gallon higher than in the U.S. Our timing was perfect. We only had about a five minute wait before boarding the ferry. It was a ninety minute enjoyable ride with a musician playing and singing the type of music we like. Upon leaving the ferry we drove for about ninety minutes to a very pretty campground with few customers. There are 117 sites here able to accommodate RVs up to 65 feet; however, he only has two sites occupied. There are an abundant amount of RV parks on this island. Once we were settled we got ready to attend a Gospel Celtic fiddle concert. We had no idea how far it was from where we parked. This is a very large and beautiful island. It was a long drive on a long day; however, we enjoyed the concert. Bill really likes Celtic dancing. We went to the government controlled liquor store and discovered that Canadian Whiskey (the same size and brand as sold in the U.S.) sold for $54.99 compared to $12.99 at Costco in the states. Obviously, we did not buy anything.
