Navigateur Campground, Pokeshaw, New Brunswick
Monday, August 19th, 2013 As I write today’s blog I’m looking out the front window at the most spectacular sunset. We had a long day of driving through Northern Quebec La Vallee area which followed the Riviere Matapedia. The views were stunning the entire day. As usual, we thought this was the most beautiful place we’d ever seen. We are now camping at a Frenchman’s private campground in Pokeshaw, New Brunswick. We have no electric and no sewer but it is just wonderful. It has the most fabulous view you can imagine. And we are alone! We are on a cliff overlooking Chaleur Bay. This campground consists of about eight ancient cabin cruisers dry docked and turned into motel rooms plus one or two sites for motor homes. No one is here but us and we’re only here because Bill was unhappy with the first place we had planned on staying which was both crowed and expensive. We just happened upon this wonderful and unique piece of grass covered land on a cliff overlooking a magnificent view. What a day it has been – our longest day of driving thus far but at the end of it instead of being exhausted we are happy. It feels like we’ve found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
